Installations in concrete with excellent quality
More than 70 years of tradition, but nevertheless always the latest technologies in mind, to keep up with the times and to supply the highest quality permanently – founded in 1951, Weber Betonwerk GmbH based in Ippesheim knows exactly which huge potential is hidden in their material and what great problems it may cause: Concrete does not forgive any mistake! They do not only cost time, but in most cases, they are also associated with high expenditures. Using the right material leads to decisive advantages here.
For this reason, the Middle Franconian company has been opting for innovative systems regarding the incorporation of electrical installations. „A complaint is the worst that may happen to us. Using the Primo products, we could reduce them substantially,“ explains plant manager Nieky Smiets. „Thanks to the integrated strain relief and the guaranteed tightness, we get greater security. The boxes do no longer fill up, and we hardly get any complaints,“ was the explanation for the fact why he exclusively installs concrete boxes of the M series of Primo in hollow walls in the meantime.
Red Dot Winner 2022
In addition to a final product of high quality, the Primo boxes also provide an immense advantage in time as far as the production is concerned. The membrane can be cut open easily with the aid of a cutter knife and afterwards, only the conduit has to be inserted. „Now everything is fixed and is concrete-tight immediately,“ states Smiets. „Moreover, the opening adapts to the conduit size. So, we no longer need any special adapters for different sizes.“
Strong functionality thanks to innovative approaches are a hallmark of the Primo products which therefore have already been awarded a prize officially. Hence, the installation housings of the XL series were among the winners of the renowned Red Dot Award in 2022. Apart from the remarkable design, above all the above-mentioned aspects plaid a decisive role for the award. Regarding these points, the XL series convinced the jury and the practical users equally.
Thought through to every corner
„When using the installation housings, you realize that there was really given thought to the development,“ Smiets praised the practical eye-catchers in an anthracite-orange shade, which are used at the Weber factory for mounting all embedded parts such as luminaires, loudspeakers to other built-in devices.
The cover of the housing can already be opened before concrete pouring, for example, allowing cables and conduits to be inserted comfortably. However, the greatest added value for the concrete plant is the option of a magnet attachment.
„Fast. Simple. Primo“
„Now, we no longer have to glue on the housings which is a huge advantage. For one thing, the removal of glue residues on the formwork table is completely eliminated. For another thing, the final result is of higher quality.“ Hence, the preparation works for concreting are running true to the motto „Fast. Simple. Primo“. „In addition, the front parts allow us much room as far as the installation openings are concerned. They can be designed in an absolute individual way, providing our clients with more flexibility,“ says Smiets.
On the premises covering 170,000 m², the Weber concrete plant is manufacturing about 2,000 m² of walls and floors per day on average – with rising tendency. In order to manage this, a new production hall is under construction at present. Combined with the innovative systems, Smiets sees himself together with his team „very well equipped for the future“.
