Separators and rainwater management systems made of concrete

Based in the town of Donaueschingen, Mall GmbH offers innovative system solutions for rainwater management, separators, wastewater treatment plants, pump and plant technology, as well as L-shaped retaining wall units and other products for garden and landscape architecture, most of them produced from ready-mixed concrete. Two of these systems are presented below:

Neutralux compact grease separation system

The first chamber of the Neutralux grease separator of reinforced concrete combines the functions of sludge trap and grease separator. The second chamber offers the possibility to take samples at the feed inlet in compliance with applicable standards. According to DIN 4040-100, grease separators with a static water level below backflow level have to be drained via a double lifting system: in the lower container section housing the second chamber, the two explosion-proof submersible pumps are installed as a submersible block unit.

The level is measured by means of a hydrostatic level sensor. The range of equipment is complemented by an off-grid alarm system. The single-container design minimizes the points of hazard posed by intermediate piping, as is the case with separate containers. Cost benefits are also created by the quick and space-saving installation with only one floor level. Installing a downstream backflow loop in the exterior control cabinet ensures backwater protection in line with applicable standards.

Mall garden package with new Fontana M tapping point

A third option for withdrawing the water collected in the cistern has been added to the Fontana garden packages from Mall for the use of rainwater for garden irrigation: in the new Fontana M tapping point, which is also made of concrete, an option for connecting the garden hose has been directly integrated into the cistern cover.

The garden packages from Mall include all the components needed to use rainwater for garden irrigation: a concrete cistern with garden filter, submersible pump with integrated automatic control unit and connection kit. Two options were previously available for withdrawing the rainwater: Fontana S (tapping point at ground level) and Fontana L (garden water column). The new Fontana M outlet is directly integrated into the cistern cover, thus eliminating the need for an additional connection between the cistern and the tapping point, which is required for the other two options. Fontana M is also suitable for retrofitting to existing cisterns.
