Afinitas, a leading global infrastructure equipment and services company, announced that third generation precast concrete industry veteran and longtime CEO, Brad Schmidgall, is leaving Afinitas on December 1, 2023, to take the CEO position at major concrete product producer County Materials Corporation, headquartered in Marathon, WI.

Long business history

Schmidgall and County Materials have a long business history, partnering on numerous equipment projects for County plants. His industry and leadership experience align perfectly with County Materials.

"Serving as the CEO of Afinitas and being part of BW Forsyth Partners has been a true honor, and I will deeply miss the people and incredible company we have built,” said Schmidgall, who will be succeeded by Jason Duncan. “I am excited about the future of Afinitas under Jason’s leadership. He has a rare combination of confidence, competence and humility and cares deeply about the industry and those in his span of care. I couldn’t be more optimistic about the future of Afinitas.”

Duncan came to Afinitas in November 2022 as its new president of the Afinitas Forming Systems Division. In less than a year, he has implemented new strategies and processes that have generated record-breaking revenue for the Afinitas Forming Systems Division. In addition, under Duncan’s leadership, the team launched new products like NextGen forms, SmartConnect™ a hydraulic power system for collapsible cores, and SmartRoll™ a safer, faster form roll-over device. Prior to Afinitas, Duncan spent more than 16 years in various engineering, sales, and leadership roles with Forterra (now Rinker). He is a professional engineer and holds an MBA degree.

“We are grateful for the tremendous work Brad has done to make Afinitas a successful, global leader, and he will be truly missed,” said Ryan Gable, Managing Partner of BW Forsyth Partners (parent company to Afinitas). “The good news is he leaves our company in its strongest position ever and in the very capable hands of Jason Duncan and the broader leadership team. We are thrilled to have an experienced professional like Jason in this role and are confident he’ll take Afinitas to an even greater level of success.”

In the interim, until a replacement is found, Duncan will continue to serve as Forming Systems President and CEO.
