Co-reactive GmbH is a new member of Solid Unit, the network for climate-neutral construction with mineral building materials. The spin-off from RWTH Aachen University is developing and scaling up an innovative process for storing CO2 as a solid carbonate and for producing pozzolanic building materials that are used in cement and concrete applications. The co-reactive process not only produces a high-performance cement substitute, but also achieves a CO2-negative footprint at the same time. In the next scaling step, a pilot plant is to be put into operation in Düsseldorf by 2026.

Thomas Zawalski, Managing Director of Solid Unit e.V.: ‘We are delighted to have Co-reactive as a member! Start-ups and their innovative technologies are an indispensable part of our network. They impressively demonstrate how we can already achieve great progress in the transformation of our industry through new technical solutions. Co-reactive embodies exactly this spirit.’

Dr Andreas Bremen, Managing Director of Co-reactive GmbH: ‘Solid Unit provides us with the right network to expand partnerships and corporate relationships for the transformation of the construction industry. We look forward to working together and exchanging ideas!’
