From May 06 to 10, 2018, a professional study trip will take place once again, organized by Berufsförderungswerk für die Beton- und Fertigteilhersteller (German Association for the Advancement of Vocational Training for Concrete and Precast Producers) and the Verein der Ehemaligen Ulmer Meisterschüler (VUM). The bus trip starts and ends at Berlin main station, with destination to Poland this time. In addition to an interesting technical program, including factory visits at renowned concrete product and precast manufacturers there will be also plenty of opportunity to get to know the country and the people.

 

Visits at concrete factories and project sites

After the arrival and a city tour in Poznań, on Monday, the participants will get insights into the production at Pekabex, one of the leading manufacturers of structural precast concrete elements. After lunch and a visit of the production of paving blocks at Libet S.A., the journey will continue to Łódź.

Tuesday will start with a factory tour at Techmatik S.A. in Radom, a company specialized in the manufacture of machinery, equipment and molds for the production of concrete blocks; this will be followed by a walk through the neighboring concrete block factory of Jadar Techmatik. The day will end with a visit at the precast concrete manufacturer Fabet in Kielce as well as the visit of the Wieliczka Salt Mine – a UNESCO World Heritage.

After an overnight stay in Kraków, the journey will be continued on Wednesday morning to the memorial of the former Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp in Oświęcim. Before the continuation of the journey to Wroclaw in the evening, a visit of the travertine quarry of WKG Faryczna will be on the program.

The study trip will be concluded with going sightseeing in the city of Wroclaw, which will include landmarks such as the Centennial Hall with its 65-m high reinforced-concrete dome, and the return journey to Berlin on Thursday.

 

The price is 1,044 euros per person for a shared double room or 1,198 euros for a single room including transfers, accommodation and boarding according to the information provided by the organizer as well as visits.
