30 years full of passion and challenges: Quadra celebrates corporate anniversary

Committed to serving the concrete industry, Quadra is a leading equipment manufacturer well known for its high-performing plants as well as its innovative solutions set up in France and across the world. In September, Quadra celebrated its 30th anniversary with an impressive site tour, inspiring speeches, and a vibrant party. The BFT International team also attended the event held in Contamine-sur-Arve.

Automated processes and patented vibration system

Focusing on automated processes and utilizing a patented vibration system, Quadra designs and manufactures turnkey plants for the manufacture of a wide range of concrete products, including blocks, curbstones, paving stones, and slabs. Quadra’s technical strategy is geared towards the user and its environment, which take center stage in the research and development process. Relying on its in-house development functions involving multi-skilled expertise, Quadra is determined to shape the future by launching innovative technologies, hands-on technical solutions, and state-of-the-art designs. During the anniversary celebration, attendees got insights into the different divisions of the business. The high degree of automation and customer proximity were equally impressive.

Corporate history

Quadra president Daniel Ancrenaz and his sons and managing directors, Christophe Ancrenaz and Yannick Ancrenaz, provided attendees with insights into the history of the equipment manufacturer:

Daniel Ancrenaz founded an engineering and consulting firm in 1993. His first major project was to replace the vibration system of a press whose performance and reliability were no longer satisfactory. The new system was to ensure in-process adjustment of the vibration characteristics to the different phases of the production cycle and to the individual types of products. A new vibration system had to be developed for this purpose. Ancrenaz firmly believed that such a system would attract the attention of the industry and provide a crucial competitive advantage – and he was right. He had found a solution that he patented in 1994. The launch of this new vibration system marked a major technological advancement and gave rise to the establishment of Quadra.

Milestones

Another big milestone was a major project in 1999: the delivery and commissioning of the first large-size block machine. All engineering teams were mobilized. Following a huge effort and thanks to the dedication and commitment of everyone involved, this endeavor was completed successfully – an innovative project and a milestone for the industry. In July of the same year, Quadra welcomed more than 150 customers for the commissioning of their plants. In 2000, Quadra became the market leader in France.

Corporate succession

In 2007 and 2008, the sons of founder Daniel Ancrenaz, Christophe Ancrenaz and Yannick Ancrenaz, joined the company – and have since moved on to become managing directors.

“Our father passed his passion on to us, his passion for technology and also his passion for entrepreneurship,” says Yannick Ancrenaz.

Congratulations, Quadra!
