An outstanding financial year 2010

Manufacturer of building materials Holcim Germany looks back

 In 2010, Holcim Deutschland Group, as part of an industry running after the economic cycle, was only able to benefit in just a few segments from the positive economical trend.

The manufacturer of building materials suffered from a hard and long winter in the first quarter and again an early onset of winter in the fourth quarter. In addition, the still lasting slackness in parts of the construction industry as well as the building materials industry, increasing raw material prices and energy costs, some unforeseeable circumstances as well as the lasting oversupply and pricing pressure had an influence on the results. The group of companies‘ turnover decreased to about 355 million euros (previous year 364 million euros) in 2010.
