Friction-locked connection

Unicon® – modern precast assembly

 So far, the friction-locked connection of two precast concrete elements at the construction site was a weakness in the otherwise time and cost saving precast construction using factory-provided prefabrication. In traditional precast concrete construction, the elements were connected by means of casting wet concrete, sticking to the setting times was absolutely necessary and demounting was equivalent to demolition.

Now, things are quite different with the new mounting system Unicon of H-Bau Technik GmbH. The precast concrete elements are connected at the construction site by just plugging galvanized cast steel connectors together. An integrated adjustment system in x-, y- and z-direction allows to accommodate tolerances up to 20 mm also when mounted already. This even transfers high loads depending on the kind of anchorage in the concrete and the concrete quality of the precast concrete element. The geometry of the connector makes use of the dead load of the elements as contact force of the parts among...
