Prof. Harald S. Müller elected new fib President
Prof. Harald S. Müller was elected fib President on the occasion of the fourth congress of the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib) in Mumbai. His term of office will commence on 1 January 2015 and last two years. Müller is professor at the Institute of Concrete Structures and Building Materials at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and director of the Karlsruhe Materials Testing and Research Institute (MPA Karlsruhe). He holds the Chair for Building Materials and Concrete Engineering.
In addition to Prof. Müller, Prof. Frank Dehn, of the University of Leipzig, was co-opted into the fib Presidium, which comprises a total of ten members. He is to act as a representative of the fib Technical Council in the period from 2015 to 2018. Dehn holds the Chair for Multifunctional Construction Materials at the University of Leipzig and is a Managing Partner of the Leipzig Materials Testing and Research Institute (MFPA Leipzig GmbH).
The fib is the most significant international federation in the field of concrete construction, encompassing both academic research and engineering. It is currently comprised of 43 national member groups.
