fib symposium London
From June 22nd to 24th 2009 the 11th international fib symposium took place at the Business Design Centre in London. With 370 delegates representing 49 countries, and 288 accepted papers, the event was a clear success. Renowned speakers from industry, research and development exchanged their knowledge and latest news in concrete technology and construction. Even the keynote speakers were from three different continents, underlining the international character of this symposium.
Steve Denton, Head of fib-UK opened the session. He was delighted to see so many people from all around the world joining the fib symposium in these times of financial crisis. He especially welcomed the Japanese delegation. Since the Japanese Concrete Institute (JCI) was the co-organiser, many engineers and experts from Japan, including keynote speaker Dr.Koji Sakai participated on the symposium.
