Cooperation between Masa and MFL Fibre Cement

Masa GmbH and the Austrian company Maschinenfabrik Liezen Faserzementanlagen GesmbH (MFL Fibre Cement) recently entered into a cooperation agreement to serve the global market for lightweight construction materials with joint solutions.

Both companies are among the leading suppliers in their industry: Masa, as a premium manufacturer of machinery and plants for AAC, sand-lime brick and concrete block production, and MFL Fibre Cement, as one of the leading suppliers of fibre cement technology, see this partnership as an opportunity to serve their respective customers more comprehensively.

Both companies are thus responding to the growing demand from customers who want to have both AAC and fibre cement products in their range in order to be able to exploit the market potential of both building materials.

AAC, Sand-lime Brick and Fibre Cement: What raw materials and manufacturing processes have in common

The raw materials silica sand and cement play an important role in both AAC and fibre cement production. In the manufacturing process, starting with sand grinding, the products obtain their final strength through steam pressure hardening in autoclaves.

Operators of AAC and fibre cement plants can draw synergy effects from this on the one hand and offer their customers complementary products for construction applications on the other. For example, the combined use of AAC and fibre cement in residential construction is conceivable. While components made of AAC are very well suited for exterior and interior walls due to their properties, high-quality fibre cement products are used for facade cladding, roofing and as decorative wall/floor cladding, e.g. in bathrooms.

Both companies are looking forward to being able to support manufacturers of building materials even more comprehensively with their plant concepts and solutions in the future.
