Innovation: Modular units
Living space is scarce in Germany. Around 400,000 homes are needed per year, however, only 270,000 homes are built for now. Future-oriented methods are required correspondingly, which allow that more living space will be created. A possible approach here is the modular construction, i.e. the erection of buildings with the aid of prefabricated modular units. Currently, only 5 % of the overall construction volume is realized by means of this method. Experts assume that the potential is amounting to approx. 15 % of the overall market.
TB Petz has now developed a technique that both compensates all disadvantages of the above-mentioned manufacturing processes and provides new advantages as well. The technique is protected by patent. The patent was granted in October 2022.
The technique allows for increasing the output of existing plants and thus increasing new construction of homes, too. In addition, the technique of course also provides all known advantages of modular construction (shortening of assembly times, reducing the manufacturing costs, enhancing the sustainability, decreasing the carbon footprint, etc.).
