New industry solution for semi-precast elements
The new industrial solution for planning and production of semi-precast elements from Dicad has been in practical use since December 2022.
What is the background?
With its CAD solution, the company Baubit from Austria has set the industrial standard for speed in planning semi-precast elements. Dicad, by taking over Baubit, has integrated this knowhow into Strakon. Strakon is the modern CAD for structural engineers, with a newly developed 3D kernel for building, civil engineering, underground and precast construction. With new programming for semi-precast construction, Dicad completes the CAD portfolio for structural engineers. The new development is based on the transfer of Baubit knowhow, on the focus on simple operation as well as on the emphasis on planning speed.
Which products can now be newly planned with this solution?
In addition to precast elements that are already being planned with Strakon in most precast plants, products in the sector of semi-precast construction can now also be processed. This likewise involves products such as structural elements and solid floor slabs as well as double, solid and insulated walls. This system further integrates transport planning and/or planning of stacking and pallet assignment for production. A link to ERP and production is also standard.
Are any precast plants already planning with the new possibilities offered by Strakon for semi-precast construction?
The first precast plants have already been operating successfully with this new solution since 2022 and have gained positive experience. This involves plants that had already conducted planning with a wide variety of CAD systems in the past, and that had been convinced by the advanced structure as well as by the speed and the ease of operating the semi-precast module in Strakon. Startup of production is also unproblematic, since structures of Baubit are used that have proven their reliability for decades. The same applies to interaction with ERP systems in our sector.
What does the new solution for semi-precast elements from Dicad mean for the industry?
The semi-precast sector as a whole profits from this development. Baubit would sooner or later not have been able to continue alone. The takeover and the new development by Dicad have ensured, for one, that easy-to-operate software for very fast planning of semi-precast elements with a considerable number of innovations will continue to be available in the future. And, secondly, that this will also affect price development on the CAD market and ensure that outstanding software will continue to be available at reasonable prices.
