Sustainable formwork panels, partnership and anniversary

In recent years, the topic of sustainability has become increasingly important in the construction sector. Alkus AG intends to take the lead toward this goal. These efforts are in the spirit of its work begun 25 years ago, when the company offered the first all-plastic  formwork fabric as long-lasting alternative, generally available for practice, to wooden boards. On the exhibition stand at bauma 2025 (Hall B3, Stand 412), sustainability is a central topic. Other key areas at the trade fair include a repair demonstration, presentation of an innovative lightweight construction panel for use in scaffolding and celebration of the 25th anniversary of the company.

At the exhibition stand of this year’s bauma in Munich, Alkus AG will demonstrate how far the company has come in terms of sustainability. The Liechtenstein-based company, for example, already now recycles all production waste in the sense of zero waste production and reutilizes it in new work. “Our engagement in this area is a clear commitment to the goal of minimizing the environmental impact of the construction sector,” says Julian Dingler, Managing Partner of Alkus GmbH.

Panel Competence Center: this is how the Alkus solid plastic panel is repaired

Another prominent feature at the Alkus AG stand is, as in the past, its live demonstration. For this purpose, the company has reserved a special area at its exhibition stand. At the Panel Competence Center, one of the Alkus AG technicians demonstrates how scratches and perforation faults – and even faulty corners and edges of a formwork panel – can be repaired by using original material. “Our special repair methods ensure smooth surfaces and the long service life of the formwork fabric,” explains Pierre Jäger, Head of Application Technology.” An Alkus panel serves up to 1,500 applications and even more. That makes the panel not only a sustainable but also a cost-efficient alternative to wooden boards.”

Alkus CD panel: partner Compoform B.V. represented at the exhibition stand

At its exhibition stand, Alkus AG will be supported for the duration of the exhibition by its partner company Compoform B.V. – a specialist in scaffolding decking. Alkus AG shares with the Dutch company the commitment to quality and sustainability in the construction sector. The two companies entered into a strategic partnership in 2024. Since that time, Alkus AG has in its portfolio, in addition, an Alkus CD polypropylene scaffolding panel, which can also be seen at bauma 2025. The panel can be used in all common systems and is impressive with its lightweight construction. Compared to conventional wooden boards, it saves around 50 % in weight and has a UV resistance rating of more than 10 years.

25 years of Alkus AG

On the occasion of its 25th company anniversary, Alkus AG plans a special event for important partners and customers during the exhibition week. The company was founded in 2000 in Vaduz, Liechtenstein. Series production of the Alkus solid plastic formwork panel was launched in the same year. At bauma, the innovative formwork panels were exhibited for the first time in 2001 – at the first Alkus AG stand of its own - at that time, only 40 m². At bauma 2025, the company will exhibit at its largest stand to date.
