Residual concrete recycling system with dosing buffer: Reuse of waste water feasible

Company Warbud Beton Sp. z o.o. in Poland has placed an order with Bibko® for the fourth ComTec residual concrete recycling system including a dosing buffer.
The wash-out machine ComTec 30 was equipped with a high-performance dosing buffer installed right before the actual system. The advantage of this layout is that the trucks are able to discharge the residual concrete intermittently rather than all at once. The dosing buffer consists of a trough of 5 m in length that is in the position to receive approximately 6 m³ of residual concrete in a very short time. Thus, waiting times which occur in case of systems without dosing buffer are avoided. The 6 m wide charging hopper of the dosing buffer is designed in a way that allows 3 trucks to wash out and discharge their residual concrete at the same time. At first, the residual concrete and wash-out water are buffered intermediately in the dosing unit. A cylindrical conveyor screw located in a semi-circular trough transports the residual concrete towards the integrated bucket conveyor system. Closed buckets then lift the material upwards and discharge the same into the wash-out machine. The bucket conveyor system is designed to define the amount of water and residual concrete fed into the wash-out machine. Water quality, separation cut and consequently the density in the residual water tank are therefore independent of the speed that the truck uses when discharging. A pump sump system conveys the residual water of the Bibko recycling machine into an above-ground steel tank furnished with three agitators. The integrated agitators keep the fine particles < 0.2 in the residual water in suspension. In doing so, sedimentation of the fine particles is avoided. The residual water is used again in the mixing process as well as for rinsing the trucks.
