Symposium in Stockholm

 In June next year, Sweden will organize the fib Symposium in Stockholm. Stockholm has previously arranged both a FIP Symposium (in 1982) and a CEB meeting (in 1997) but this will be the first Swedish fib Symposium. We have selected June since the Swedish capital is most beautiful in the beginning of the summer.

The Symposium Theme is „Concrete Structures for Sustainable Community“. Concrete has a double role in building the sustainable community. First, concrete is the most frequently used man-made construction material and, second, concrete structures have a potential to obtain a very long life-span. To produce concrete structures with a minimum environmental footprint is basic, but it is even more important to use and develop its many beneficial properties to utilize its full potential during the service-life.
