Glass-rigid foam facing without connectors

The layout of conventional precast concrete sandwich panels comprises an at least 7 cm thick reinforced concrete facing, an insulation layer, and a reinforced concrete bearing layer. Anchors made of stainless steel or glass-fiber-reinforced plastic are integrated to establish the connection between the two concrete layers. A reduction in the structure’s dead load may be obtained by incorporating a textile-reinforced concrete facing layer. In either design, only the reinforced concrete bearing layer assumes a load-bearing function.
