Semi-precast floors. Rust spots, traces of rubber abrasion, voids –

A developer is constructing a hotel and – as it subsequently turns out – requires the room ceilings to be smooth with a “premium-quality paint finish” and indirect lighting. Work is split among the individual construction trades in the usual manner, and the shell construction contractor chooses semi-precast floor units, which are subsequently installed.

The decoration contractor submits an objection and states that additional costs would be incurred because the floor undersides were not suitable for applying a “smooth, premium-quality paint finish” without specific preparation of the surface....
