Engineering Days 24: Exhibitors, workshops presentations
Engineering Days 2024 is just around the corner and promises to be a highlight for the precast concrete industry. Based on the theme of ‚Transforming Prefabrication: Creating a successful future through innovation‘, the congress provides a platform for experts to exchange ideas on the latest developments and trends in the precast industry.
Over 40 exhibitors, 16 workshops, and 15 presentations
The program for Engineering Days 2024 is as diverse as the industry itself. It includes several series of lectures and workshops covering a wide range of aspects of precast. The selection of lectures and workshops will take place during the summer of 2024, ensuring that attendees are presented with the most current and relevant topics.
In the first lecture, management consultant and lecturer Dipl.-Kfm. Christian H.D. Haak will address these key questions: How do we create tomorrow‘s success today? What challenges does the construction industry face in a disruptive world? What are the strategies for transformation, including digitalization, AI, and sustainability? Prof. Markus König will then present the opportunities that artificial intelligence offers the construction industry.
AI & Digital Trends: The Potential in Prefabrication
This will be followed by a presentation by Stefan Kaufmann, Product Manager for BIM Strategy & New Technologies at Allplan GmbH. This BIM expert will use practical examples to show how AI can improve BIM design. The next presentation covers the topic of BIM and why reliable data is more important than ever before – the more automation and the more complex the projects, the higher the value that BIM provides for precast manufacturers and detailers. Susana Jiménez (Aprofitalents) will then explain how digital transformation in the precast concrete industry can be driven by a culture of appreciative feedback.
Efficient and sustainable: how is reinforcement done today?
After the lunch break, the program will continue with specific innovations from the precast industry. Matthias Tietze, Matthias Schurig, and Alexander Kahnt (TU Dresden, Betonwerk Oschatz GmbH, Kahnt & Tietze GmbH Leipzig) will use the example of a carbon-reinforced concrete wall to show how robotics can be used in the precast plant to create an economical value chain. Walter Kirchmair (EVG) and Klaus Endres (SCP4U e.U.) will then explain why it makes sense to modernize existing precast plants, also from a sustainability perspective. In the final presentation of this session, Hubert Rapperstorfer (Rapperstorfer Automation GmbH) will look at energy efficiency in precast plants using the example of reinforcement machines.
Green innovations in precast
The third session focuses on sustainability and environmental compatibility in precast construction. In her presentation ‚Precast elements for sustainable buildings‘, Arch. DI Ursula Schneider (POS architekten ZT GmbH) will talk about climate-neutral construction, sustainable materials, and adaptive design. Thomas Friedrich (Innogration GmbH) will then discuss the contribution of precast concrete elements to the energy transition and how concrete can be used to store and distribute energy. Ricardo Remus (Sonocrete GmbH) will present an innovative technology that uses ultrasound to reduce the carbon footprint of precast concrete production. In the final presentation, DI Eduard Artner and Prof. Andreas Trummer (Baumit GmbH | TU Graz) will present practical examples of weight- and CO2-reduced applications in 3D concrete.
A panel discussion will round off the first day of the Engineering Days in line with this year‘s theme. This will be followed by a festive and elegant gala dinner in the cozy atmosphere of the Imlauer Hotel Pitter. Guests will be pampered with a 4-course menu served directly at their seats.
Workshops: practical and interactive
The second morning will be dedicated to workshops. These hands-on sessions will allow delegates to deepen their knowledge, exchange ideas, and discuss with the speakers. The workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including the application of new technologies, the optimization of planning and production processes, and the implementation of sustainability strategies.
Defying the crisis: best practices in precast construction
The fourth and final session offers practical insights and best practices from the precast industry. Philippe Marrie (Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH) will talk about sustainable space modules for housing, featuring reusable modules, new concrete mixes, and natural insulation. Robert Neubauer and Lutz Pfleger (RIB Software GmbH, Avermann Betonfertigteiltechnik GmbH & Co. KG) will then give an insight into the modernization of the Lütkenhaus warehouse. Next, Bernhard Leitner will present the Green Code Eco Slab and explain how innovative concrete solutions for sustainable construction can look like. Finally, Christian Prilhofer (Prilhofer Consulting GmbH) will give an insight and outlook into the world of precast concrete elements and what lies ahead.
Why you should not miss the Engineering Days 2024
Engineering Days 2024 is a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the precast concrete industry and to benefit from the experience and knowledge of leading experts. It is the ideal place to shape the future of precast together.
