New deadline

The fib Symposium in June next year in Stockholm on Concrete Structures for Sustainable Community has gathered a lot of interest. The theme is a hot topic in many countries and the concrete industry is eager to contribute to a more sustainable world. The Organizing Committee (OC) will encourage also structural engineers to consider abstract submissions. We believe that the structural engineer has an important role. She is the person who is responsible for the design of durable concrete structures and the optimization of the cross section and the amount of reinforcement. Research on structural behaviour and development of new design recommendations are of uppermost importance for the sustainable community. The OC has decided to postpone the deadline for abstracts 90 days. The new deadline for submitting abstracts is August 15, 2011.
